Why we consciously choose our own course. No anonymous cloud, but tangible technology from the heart of Zutphen.
For many small entrepreneurs, the step to a large data center is illogical. The massive electricity costs, cooling, and energy consumption of those centers are often unaffordable - and unnecessary for local applications. At the same time, standard VPS solutions often do not meet the requirements for specific applications that need pure processing power.
The answer is our own "Micro-Datacenter". The core consists of multiple Mini-PCs (Intel NUCs). Unlike a shared VPS, these units function as dedicated nodes with their own processors and memory.
Despite the compact size, we use High-end NVMe storage for maximum speed. This allows us to run websites that can handle millions of views per month, without the gigantic electricity bill of a traditional server room.
A unique aspect of our infrastructure is the reuse of written-off hardware. Laptops with a defective screen but internally perfect functioning get a second life with us as a server node.
By including these machines in the cluster via USB-Gigabit adapters and professional HP ProCurve switching, we prevent e-waste and preserve valuable raw materials. This is pragmatic innovation.
